Located in sunny south Florida, the Boca Raton Academy offers English language immersion and standardized test preparation courses as well as two-year and four-year college admissions assistance for young women from China. All instruction is provided in English by qualified native English speakers.
Boca Raton Academy offers a safe, supportive environment where students learn modern, colloquial English. Except in emergencies, all communication between students and Academy staff will be conducted in English. Students are required to use English when they speak to each other during Academy activities and encouraged to talk among themselves in English during personal time.
The Academy also provides test preparation programs for qualified young Chinese women who wish to attend college in the United States. The Academy offers tutoring and test preparation classes for the General Educational Development (GED) tests, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and the SAT Reasoning Test (SAT).
Boca Raton Academy assists students who demonstrate excellent academic performance and who earn exceptional standardized test scores in gaining admission to community college or four-year university, depending on the individual student’s credentials.
The Academy provides continual opportunities for students to converse in English with native speakers in a wide variety of cultural settings by providing quality programming and recreational activities in the local community and throughout Florida. These activities may include, as appropriate to the season, visiting Disney World and other tourist attractions, attending professional and college sporting events, tours of museums and government facilities, going to local parks and volunteering at community non-profit organizations. All of these activities are conducted in English and offer the chance for students to interact with a diverse mix of native English speakers.
Because sports promote physical fitness, team building and social interactions, the Boca Raton Academy’s academic program and English immersion program is complemented by athletics. The Academy provides instruction, training and the opportunity to compete in tennis, golf, basketball, softball and volleyball.
